Welcome to Sister Oaks Farm.
Started by sisters, Janine and Amy, we are simply a small family farm. In the broader sense, we are much more. It is an effort by us, our spouses, children, and other family members to connect with the land and participate in something as a family. We are enjoying this journey together. Initially started as a small blueberry farm in Northern Wayne County, Sister Oaks has grown over the years to provide blackberries and a variety of other fresh produce to members of our community in the form of weekly produce boxes. Our farming methods follow sustainable and organic practices.

Janine
After a successful career in healthcare administration at Duke, Janine replaced her work suits for work boots. Her background in farming dates back to her childhood growing up on a farm. To guide the growth of the farm, she has further enriched her strong knowledge base regarding sustainable agriculture by taking classes in the Sustainable Agriculture Program at Central Carolina Community College.
Amy
A registered dietitian and physician associate, Amy's interest in farming stems from her interest in improving the health of her family and community. Along with Todd and the kids, she moved from the triangle to be closer to the farm and participate more actively in it's operation.
Jon
An attorney by training, Jon has a vast wealth of experiences that contribute to the farm in many ways. If we were large enough to have official titles, he would be our Director of Sales and Promotion. In addition, he manages his law practice and home life when Janine is at the farm.
Todd
When Todd is not working as a nonprofit consultant, he fills a variety of roles at the farm that balance his desk job. He eagerly jumps at any opportunity to use the tractor, weed, or build something. He has affectionately named the tractor "Therapy".
The Kiddos
Our children are each invaluable participants in the management of the farm. Their ages and roles have varied over the years based on their interest and life status. We are thankful daily for their willingness to participate in the management of this farm and could not do it without them.
